Stage Fright is a two-player cooperative puzzle adventure from Ghost Town Games, the studio behind Overcooked, published by Hello Games. Two players explore a strange town as three friends, Drew, Blake and Charlie, but they are split across parallel dimensions and see different versions of every location. Progress depends on talking to each other, describing what only you can see and solving escape-room style puzzles together. It is aimed at players who like thinking and communication more than fast reflexes.

The official store page still lists the release date as to be announced, while a studio update and the September 2026 Nintendo Direct point to a 2027 launch, with the developers targeting Spring 2027. Unreleased games can always slip, so we treat 2027 as the current plan rather than a promise. The Steam page is live now and can be wishlisted, which is the best way to get a notification the moment a firm date is confirmed.

Stage Fright is confirmed for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo versions were revealed during the September 2026 Nintendo Direct. There has been no official announcement for PlayStation, Xbox or Epic Games Store releases, so any such listing should be treated as unconfirmed until the developers or publisher say otherwise. All announced versions support two-player co-op.

Cross-platform play has not been confirmed. It is one of the most common questions in the Steam community discussions, because players want to team up across PC and Nintendo Switch, but the developers have not publicly committed to it. Until an official statement appears, the safe assumption is that you and your partner should plan to play on the same platform family. We will update this page as soon as crossplay is addressed.

Stage Fright is designed around exactly two players, online or locally, and solo play is not the intended experience. Almost every puzzle relies on two people seeing different versions of a location, so a single player would not be able to gather the clues the design expects. The game supports two players. It is not a larger party game and it is not a solo adventure, so you and one partner are the whole team. Both online co-op and local couch or split-screen co-op are part of the design, with the developers describing local play as the ideal way to experience it. Extra friends can watch, but they cannot join the puzzle solving.

Stage Fright is developed by Ghost Town Games, the independent British studio behind Overcooked and Overcooked 2, and published by Hello Games, the team behind No Man's Sky. The project was revealed at The Game Awards in December 2024, with the first gameplay shown in September 2026. The studio has said the game keeps the chaotic cooperation of Overcooked while shifting the challenge toward communication and puzzle logic.
